How To Save Electricity -
Loft Insulation
If you leave your loft uninsulated you could be wasting up to 15% of your heating bills. For the average home this approximates to a saving of about
£110. You will also reduce your co2 emissions thereby
doing your bit to help the environment.
The recommended thickness for loft lagging is 27cm, and if you get a professional to do the job it will cost you about £500, so it will
take you a few years to recoup the initial investment.
If your loft is already lagged but doesn't have the required thickness, you could do it yourself for a minimal amount.
If you satisfy certain criteria you could qualify for a free loft insulation grant. If your loft is already lagged, you may qualify for
a partial grant depending on the thickness of the existing lagging.
