Research from the Driving Standards Agency shows that it costs the average learner driver about £1,000 to obtain their licence. Here are some tips to cut the cost associated with learning to drive :-
1. Start young. Younger people need fewer lessons than older people.
2. Learn in an automatic. Learning in an automatic car will take fewer lessons and hence be cheaper. Remember that if you hold an automatic licence, you will only be allowed to drive automatic cars.
3. Asking relatives to teach you will be cheaper. You could take your last 10 or so lessons with an approved instructor.
4. If you feel confident, take an intensive driving course and obtain your licence in one week!
